In the mountaineering village of Ramsau you will find the entrance to a narrow gorge called the Wimbachklamm. The beautiful Wimbachtal lies at the foot of the Watzmann. This is where the water of the torrent comes to the surface and plunges down the narrow canyon in steep waterfalls. Through bridges and footbridges on the cliffs of the gorge, you can hike about 200m along the Wimbachklamm or plan an extended tour to the Wimbachgrieshütte (hut) or the Wimbachschloss (castle).
A wonderful excursion for young and old.
There are refreshment stops in the Wimbachschloss or in the Wimbachgrieshütte.
Tickets are only available from the ticket machine available at the entrance of the gorge.
The Wimbachklamm is closed in the winter months.
Parking is available atWimbachweg 1, 83486 Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden or take the 846 bus and get off at the Wimbachbrücke stop.
